How To: Work with FIL for Delivery

DigThisData offers a light integration with FIL Logistics to make processing orders faster and more efficient.

To ingest logistics schedules in bulk, you'll need to download the provided spreadsheet templates, copy and paste data, save the file as a Comma Separated file, and upload to DigThisData. The following steps will accomplish ingesting your logistics schedule.

Ingesting Logistics Delivery Schedules
  1. Download the spreadsheet template from DigThisData
    Google Sheets | Microsoft Excel
  2. Open the spreadsheet template - the first sheet is the template that will need to be filled in with your delivery information. The second sheet contains instructions detailing what each field is and the type of data required.
  3. Complete the template by copying column by column from the FIL Delivery spreadsheet. If you do not have FIL's schedule, please contact FIL directly.
  4. In the column labelled Delivery Method you will need to input the FIL ID i.e “FIL: 12345”. We recommend using the "Fil: " suffix for search-ability and segmenting. All non numeric characters will be stripped when exporting.
  5. Once complete, save the first Sheet as a Comma Separated text file (.CSV) with a filename of Delivery.csv.
  6. In DigThisData, open up the Data Ingestion Widget under Operations  → Data Management → Import Data File. Upload the Delivery.csv file you just filled out.

Please note: Exporting to CSV from Microsoft Excel may add additional empty columns that will result in a failed upload to DTD. If you encounter an error uploading, please try uploading your spreadsheet to Google Sheets and saving a CSV from there.

Setting up FIL Compliant Products
  1. Navigate to Operations  → Products
  2. Set the DataSet to Direct
  3. Open each Product using the magnifying glass icon and under Settings in the Shipping Code field, enter the FIL Shipping Code associated with that product and save.

Please Note: If no Shipping Code is entered for a product, the SKU of that product is used.

Enable the FIL Orders Export

Once Accounts and Products are updated, you can export all orders directly into a FIL template for easy upload to the FIL Portal.

  1. Navigate to Account Management -> Data Exports
  2. Enable the "Fil DIS Template export under "Manage Orders Export Options"
